Do I need prior experience to volunteer?

No prior experience is necessary as we provide all the training and support you’ll need to succeed in your role.

What's the minimum age to volunteer?

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
However,y ounger volunteers can participate with parental supervision.

How much time do I need to commit to?

We offer flexible volunteering opportunities.
You can choose how much time you’d like to commit based on your availability and the role you’re interested in.

Can I volunteer if I have other pets?

Yes, having pets at home does not prevent you from volunteering.
However, roles that involve direct interaction with dogs may require specific guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of all animals involved.

What support will I receive as a volunteer?

Our dedicated team provides continuous support and training to ensure you feel confident and valued in your volunteer role.

Volunteer roles with Scruffer Lovers

Foster Coordinators

Coordinate dog placements, provide resources, and ensure smooth communication between foster carers and the rescue team.

Event Coordinators

Assist in planning and executing events that raise awareness and funds, including adoption days, fundraisers, and community outreach programs.

Transport volunteers

Provide transportation for dogs to and from vet appointments, foster homes, and adoption events.

Social media and marketing

Provide content creation for our online presence with scheduling & supporter engagement.

Fundraising volunteers

Help to raise the funds needed to support our rescue efforts, organise fundraising events, seek sponsorships, and manage donation drives.

Admin support

Help with various administrative tasks, such as data entry, answering queries, and help with adoption paperwork.

Photographers

Take quality photos of our dogs up for adoption.
